SensMax SensGuard PT100 High Accuracy Wireless Temperature Sensor with Probe
The SensGuard PT100 High Accuracy wireless temperature sensor is designed for precise temperature monitoring in extreme cold and high-temperature environments. It uses an external PT100 RTD probe to measure temperatures from -200°C to +200°C, making it suitable for laboratories, deep freezers, cryogenic storage, industrial processes and critical temperature monitoring applications.
The sensor supports two software-selectable precision modes. High-accuracy mode provides a 0.01°C measurement step for detailed monitoring, while standard-accuracy mode provides a 0.1°C step for longer battery life. Measurement accuracy is ±0.1°C.
Readings are measured every 5 minutes and sent wirelessly to a compatible SensGuard gateway, such as SensGuard TCP LR X2. The gateway forwards data to the SensGuard cloud monitoring platform, where users can view reports, monitor trends and receive alerts when temperature limits are exceeded.

How the PT100 High Accuracy Sensor Works
The PT100 High Accuracy sensor measures temperature through an external stainless steel RTD probe. The probe can be placed inside a freezer, storage chamber, duct, equipment housing or process area, while the wireless sensor body remains mounted outside the monitored zone where it can communicate with the gateway.
The sensor records a temperature reading every 5 minutes. These readings are transmitted over an AES-128 encrypted 868 MHz radio channel to a compatible SensGuard gateway. The gateway then sends the data to the SensGuard cloud platform for reporting, alerts and historical analysis.
The device includes a network diagnostic button and status LED, so users can check whether the sensor is connected to the gateway and cloud system.
High-Accuracy and Standard-Accuracy Modes
The sensor can work in two precision modes. High-accuracy mode provides a 0.01°C measurement step and is used when small temperature changes must be monitored closely. Standard-accuracy mode provides a 0.1°C measurement step and helps extend battery life.
The selected mode is stored in the sensor memory and remains active after battery replacement. This makes the device suitable for both high-precision laboratory monitoring and longer-term industrial or storage applications.
Installation
The sensor body is mounted using high-bond double-sided adhesive tape on a smooth surface such as plastic, metal, glass or a painted wall. This allows quick installation without drilling or additional mounting hardware.
After mounting the sensor body, place the external 1 m probe in the area where temperature must be measured. The sensor body should be positioned where it remains within wireless range of the SensGuard gateway and within the allowed operating temperature range for the electronics.
The sensor is shipped powered off to protect the batteries during storage and transport. To start operation, press and release the JOIN button and register the sensor in the SensGuard cloud portal using the connection wizard.

Typical applications include freezers, laboratories, HVAC systems, industrial equipment and temperature-critical storage.
Compatible Gateway and Cloud Monitoring
The PT100 High Accuracy sensor requires a compatible SensGuard gateway for online monitoring. The gateway receives wireless sensor readings and forwards them to the SensGuard cloud platform.
- SensGuard TCP LR X2 wireless gateway and data collector for SensGuard monitoring sensors.
In the cloud platform, users can review temperature history, configure thresholds, receive alerts and export monitoring reports. This supports daily supervision, quality control and audit documentation.
Typical Applications
SensGuard PT100 High Accuracy is suitable for temperature monitoring tasks where standard wireless sensors are not enough because of extreme temperature range or precision requirements.
- Cryogenic and deep-freeze storage for ultra-low temperature monitoring in laboratories, medical freezers and bio-banks.
- Scientific laboratories for high-precision temperature monitoring during experiments and validation work.
- Industrial processing for temperature logging in manufacturing, chemistry, test chambers and controlled heating processes.
- Cold chain logistics for temperature verification of perishable goods, medical items and pharmaceuticals.
- HVAC systems for monitoring ducts, technical areas, heating loops and cooling systems.
- Server rooms and data centers for localized temperature monitoring near high-density equipment.
- Food processing and storage for freezer, cold room and process temperature control.
Business Benefits
High-accuracy temperature monitoring helps organizations detect small temperature changes before they become costly problems. This is important for laboratories, pharmaceutical storage, cold chain logistics, industrial testing and other processes where temperature deviations can affect product quality or research results.
Wireless installation reduces cabling work and makes it easier to add monitoring points in existing facilities. Cloud reports and alerts help teams react faster, document temperature history and support internal quality control.
- monitor extreme temperatures from -200°C to +200°C;
- detect small temperature changes with ±0.1°C accuracy;
- reduce manual temperature checks;
- receive alerts when thresholds are exceeded;
- keep historical reports for quality control and audit needs;
- install new monitoring points without running sensor cables to the gateway.
Example in Action
A university laboratory uses SensGuard PT100 High Accuracy sensors to monitor ultra-low temperature storage used for pharmaceutical research. The probe is placed inside the storage area, while the wireless sensor body is mounted outside where it can communicate with the SensGuard gateway.
The laboratory team receives regular temperature readings in the cloud portal and can review detailed history for each monitored storage unit. If the temperature moves outside the configured limits, the monitoring system can alert staff so they can react before sensitive materials are affected.
